The Turkish millitary company FNSS, will be producing German Fennek. All parts to be manufactured into Turkey with all tech transfer from Germany.

FNSS Savunma Sistemleri of Turkey has signed an agreement with Swiss company Oerlikon Contraves (part of the Rheinmetall Group) to market the latter’s Skyranger 35 mm airdefence turret system.
The system was first made public in mid-2004.
This remote-controlled turret system could be installed on the Armoured Combat Vehicle – Stretched (ACV-S), the latest addition to the Turkish Infantry Fighting Vehicle (TIFV) family, which has an additional road wheel station either side. This gives it greater internal volume and payload, enabling it to undertake a much wider range of battlefield roles and missions. The turret could also be installed on the 8 x 8 version of the new Pars chassis being developed in conjunction with General Purpose Vehicles of the US.
If the Skyranger 35 mm system was adopted by the Turkish Land Forces Command (TLFC) then FNSS Savunma Sistemleri would manufacture the turret under licence. The Skyranger 35 mm system fires the Advanced Hit Efficiency And Destruction (AHEAD) round, which has been designed specifically to neutralise air threats as well as having a secondary role against ground targets.
The TLFC already uses the older Oerlikon Contraves twin 35 mm GDF series of towed anti-aircraft guns.
A typical Skyranger 35 mm airdefence unit consists of a control centre, search radar system and between two and six turret gun systems or a mix of gun systems/missile launchers. All of these are based on the same armoured fighting vehicle (AFV) chassis.
A number of countries are now placing increased emphasis on providing a low-level air defence capability to their mechanised units.
Protection is not only required against conventional attack helicopters and aircraft but also against cruise missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles.
The FNSS Savunma Sistemleri product range is rounded out by the Pars family of 4 x 4, 6 x 6 and 8 x 8 AFVs, which were first shown at IDEX 2005. Two of these (a 6 x 6 and 4 x 4) are now in the Middle East undergoing trials.
FNSS Savunma Sistemleri is mainly known as a developer and manufacturer of fully tracked AFVs with production of the TIFV commencing in 1991. Since then 2,596 have been produced for the home and export markets.
Export versions are known as ACVs, with sales having been made to Malaysia (211) and the United Arab Emirates (136). Additional export orders are expected from existing and new customers.
Over the past few years the company has started to broaden its product range to meet emerging requirements of not only TLFC but also export markets. This specially applies to wheeled AFVs, which, until recently, did not feature in its product range. FNSS has already signed an agreement with the German company
Krauss-Maffei Wegmann for local manufacture of the Fennek 4 x 4 reconnaissance vehicle to meet the potential requirements of the TLFC. In addition it has signed
an agreement with BAE Systems Land Systems OMC of South Africa to manufacture and market the RG-31 4 x 4 mine-protected vehicle to meet the potential operational requirements of the TLFC.
The RG-31 is already in service with a number of countries and was recently ordered by the USArmy for operations in Iraq.
